Known Bugs (and fixes)
Error Messages
Error messages: "Invalid format used in the HR Zones
setup. Reset to default values?" and "Prefs: Dataset not in edit or insert
mode." (v2.5+)
This is actually not a bug. The error appears
because heart rate zones are not present or entered incorrectly. Check that heart rate zone settings (Setup,
Body tab)
do not overlap or include spaces, and that Zone 1 starts with a number
greater than zero.
Correct format: Zone 1 = 60-120, Zone 2
= 121-150, etc.
Incorrect format: Zone 1 = 0-120, Zone 2 = 120 -150,
etc.
Error message: "Invalid format used in the
Power Zones
setup. Reset to default values?" (v2.9+)
This is actually not a bug. The error appears
because power zones are not present or entered incorrectly. Check that power zone settings (Setup,
Body tab) do not overlap or include spaces, and that Zone 1 starts
with a number greater than zero.
Correct format: Zone 1 = 60-120, Zone 2
= 121-150, etc.
Incorrect format: Zone 1 = 0-120, Zone 2 = 120 -150,
etc.
One of the
following error messages appears and data can not be viewed or edited.
"BLOB has been modified"
"Entry: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset"
"Index out of Date" (v2.x)
Appears to be a Borland problem.
Likely due to a computer shut down or system crash while CrossTrak is
running. We're working on
it... In the meantime, you can fix corrupted data using a Database Repair Utility1
available
here.
If you are a new user (no data entered), please uninstall CrossTrak
(Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs), manually delete the "H&M
Riley Consulting Ltd" directory, then re-install the program from the downloaded .exe file.
Error message: "Interface Mismatch. Engine Version Different"
appears during/after installation. (v2.x)
An older version of
the BDE (Borland Database Engine) is likely present on your system and is
conflicting with CrossTrak's version of the BDE. Other programs that use the BDE include some Corel
(i.e. WordPerfect) and Acumen products.
Try closing all programs and
updating your BDE after downloading the latest version from
Borland.
Note: The BDE file is called bde511en.exe (English) and should
be found at the bottom of the page under "BDE v5.1.1 Download Availability".
If you continue to receive error message when running CrossTrak, you may
need to uninstall (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs)
then re-install CrossTrak after updating the BDE.
Error Message:
"10093: Sucessful WSA Startup not yet performed". (v2.x)
Although
CrossTrak does not access the internet on its own (unless you
explicitly
request it to via its Online Features), the program still requires that your
computer support the TCP/IP protocol. You can install the TCP/IP protocol as
described
here.

Device / HRM Problems
Why can't I import data into CrossTrak from the Polar RS200, CS200 or
F6 HRMs?
The Polar RS200, CS200 and F6 HRMs are only compatible with Polar's
web-based log using their "weblink" feature. They are not currently
compatible with CrossTrak's PC-based software.
Can't download data
from Acumen TZ Max 50/100. (v2.0.3-v2.0.6)
These CrossTrak versions are not compatible with *newer* Acumen
models (most year 2000+ models). Version 2.1 (Acumen OEM Edition) and
version 2.5+ are compatible with ALL downloadable Acumen HRMs.
Version 2.9.5+ is also compatible with the Acumen USB interface.
Errors or inconsistent
results when attempting to download data directly from the Polar Vantage NV
into CrossTrak. (v2.8+)
Downloading data from the Vantage NV can be problematic -- even when
using the software supplied by Polar. Check that your HRM, interface and port
are correctly selected in Setup. Choose Polar Vantage NV as the
monitor type (the Advantage interface will be selected automatically) and check
that the selected port is not being used by another program or device
(i.e. Palm Pilot). Try disconnecting/reconnecting the interface and re-opening
CrossTrak until the download works.
When attempting to import data from a saved
FitSense .csv file, the following error message appears: "A problem occurred
while importing HRM file!" (v2.6+)
For tips
on using the FitSense FS-1 with CrossTrak, please click
here.
Unable to download from
Polar S-Series HRMs into CrossTrak (v2.8+) using the USB IR Interface.
(v2.8+)
If you are using the USB IR Interface, you may need to run the polarusb.exe file located in the CrossTrak directory (C:\Program Files\H&M Riley
Consulting, Ltd\CrossTrak). From the resulting USB directory, run the usbsetup.exe file. This program will install the required USB drivers
for the Polar IR Interface.
Note: You should unplug your USB interface
while installing the drivers.
Can't download data from
the Polar Coach or S-410/510/520 HRMs. (v2.06+)
Check
that your HRM is correctly selected in Setup.
- In v2.0.6 - v2.6.0
choose Polar Coach.
- In v2.8 select Polar - All Others as the
monitor type and Soniclink as the Interface type.
- In v2.9+ select
Polar - Coach as the
monitor type and Soniclink as the Interface type.
The SonicLink
method of data transfer may be affected by the sensitivity of your
computer's microphone as well as outside noise - even the noise of your
computer's hard drive. You may occasionally get an error and have to try
again. Try changing your microphone recording volume (Start > Settings >
Control Panel...) and holding the watch different distances from the
microphone. When importing from S-410/510/520 models (v2.9+), it is
important to wait two or three seconds between clicking Import in
CrossTrak and starting communication on the watch. The recording level
should reach 40-60% during the import (vertical bar at right of Import
window). "List Index out of
bounds (0)" error message when attempting to Attach / Override HRM /
Session data. (v2.9.5)
This bug
was present in v2.9.5 only. It is fixed in v2.9.5a and later
versions. Please upgrade if you have v2.9.5 installed.
SRM data does not import or resulting session metrics graphs appear
incorrect. (v2.9.5)
V2.9.5 and v2.9.5a include a bug when importing some data from SRM files. Please
contact us to learn how to fix the problem.

Other
Problems during
installation of the program.
(all versions)
Installshield (the program CrossTrak uses to install itself on your
computer) may be having problems with a file(s) located in the same
directory as the program file you downloaded from the CrossTrak website. Try
removing all other files from your Temp directory (or whatever folder you
downloaded the crosstrak.exe file to) or move the downloaded file to its own directory,
then try the installation again.
Characters for some
languages not supported (ex. Korean, Norwegian). (all versions)
To be added to a future version.
Reports do not appear
correctly (or at all). (all versions)
To view reports on your monitor, CrossTrak requires that a
printer driver be installed on your system. A printer does not actually need to be connected to
the system to view reports, but a printer driver must be installed. To install a
printer driver, download one from a website such as
HP.
Power-related reports
(Ave Power vs. Date, Time in Power Zones, etc.) appear blank or ignore some
data even though imported power data is present in CrossTrak for the
selected date range. (v2.9+)
If power data was imported using v2.8 (prior to upgrading to
v2.9+), find each workout with power data attached, open the HRM/Session Editor
(right-click, Edit HRM/Session data) and re-calculate the zones (Calc
Zones, OK). Power data from these workouts should now be available
for power-related reports.
Note: This procedure is not
necessary for workouts imported while using v2.9+.

Report a Bug!
Have you encountered an error or bug when using CrossTrak that is not listed
above? If so, please
let us know. If we can
replicate the error, we will add it to this page.
Notes:
1. The Database Repair Utility, which
is distributed as a service to our users, was not built by CrossTrak and is
therefore unsupported. Please see the readme.txt file included with the download
for instructions.
